Only one wired + one wireless interface possible

Bug Description

There is no way to have wicd manage more than one interface per interface type -- I have a separate wired interface and another WLAN stick with my notebook's dock than without. Maybe it'd be possible to have some kind of interface hierarchy (first try eth0, then eth1..., same for wlan<n>), first come, first serve?

Version is 1.6.2
Distribution is Gentoo

Support for this is planned for Wicd 2.0. We are not sure when it will be ready, most likely in the late future.

Any progress on this? I've had to go back to the Unbuntu Network Manager as I am not able to configure or select between the dual nics on my test machines. The only way to do this currently is to go to Preferences|Network Interfaces and change the Wired interface from eth0 to eth1. Similar situation exists for those with a bluetooth interface, see:

The year 2013 came, but nothing have changed. Do you plan to do it?

Sure I plan to do it.

However, this feature requires much code changes, a big overhaul of the current code, and I simply don't have the time to do such big changes. Being the only developer still active on wicd, I'm doing slow addition of new features.

Surely the possibility to connect to more than one network will come, it just needs time.

Patches are, as usual, very welcome. :)

Kindly,
David
