i cannot connect with my hidden wep network

Even if i've changed my essid in /etc/wicd/wireless-settings.conf from <hidden> to correct essid, wicd cannot connect with my ap. I have to run iwlist wlan0 key my_key and then wicd connect successful.
So Adam Blackburn said that wicd doesn't use iwlist, maybe problem is wpa_supplicant ?!

This info is very old and I've been fixing some hidden network bugs. Can you re-try with the latest version from the repo, or with the lastest released version, please?
