rate error in wicd-curses

Hello,

I tried updating wicd to current from the Debian package but I get

whenever I try to open network configuration.

I went as far back as r816 but the error persists.

I have a few Debian patches left which weren't added upstream but these should touch different part of the code.

I will try to investigate further but if you have some idea what could cause this I could try some patches.
