Wicd conflicts with Network Manager (Gnome)

I am using Ubuntu Lucid Lynx
There is a problem for Wicd to authenticate using WPA-personal and DHCP using dhclient when the packages (network-manager and network-manager-gnome) are installed. Once the two packages are purged, Wicd works fine, even without reboot.

Digging /var/log/wicd/wicd.log, the log for the failed and successful condition is abstrcted in "LOG" attachement.
The above is the authentication problem. The DHCP problem is found when the authentication mode is set to open in the AP. Wicd still cannot connect with AP when the network-manager and network-manager-gnome packages are installed. The message showed failure in DHCP process.
