focus not set to search field

In earlier versions the focus was always (?) set to the search field, but now it is not set. To set the focus to search as standard allows to enter search text using the keyboard without setting the focus manually by using the mouse and clicking into the search field before you can enter text.

If I visit the search page, the focus *is* in the search box.
