Bug Description

WT ver 1.3.2

The GEDCOM 5.5.1 draft allows for multiple files associated with a single Media object. This allows me to scan various pages of a letter, each scan in a separate file, but all pages would be part of a single media object, e.g. "The Letter from John to Jane".

From the GEDCOM format description

MULTIMEDIA_RECORD:=
n @XREF:OBJE@ OBJE
+1 FILE <MULTIMEDIA_FILE_REFN>
+2 FORM <MULTIMEDIA_FORMAT> +3 TYPE <SOURCE_MEDIA_TYPE>
+2 TITL <DESCRIPTIVE_TITLE>
+1 REFN <USER_REFERENCE_NUMBER>
+2 TYPE <USER_REFERENCE_TYPE> +1 RIN <AUTOMATED_RECORD_ID>
+1 <<NOTE_STRUCTURE>>
+1 <<SOURCE_CITATION>>
+1 <<CHANGE_DATE>>
{1:1}
{1:M} p.54 {1:1} p.54 {0:1} p.62 {0:1} p.48 {0:M} p.63, 64 {0:1} p.64 {0:1} p.43 {0:M} p.37 {0:M} p.39 {0:1} p.31

The BLOB context of the multimedia record was removed in version 5.5.1. A reference to a multimedia file was added to the record structure. ********* The file reference occurs one to many times so that multiple files can be grouped together, each pertaining to the same context. For example, if you wanted to associate a sound clip and a photo, you would reference each multimedia file and indicate the format using the FORM tag subordinate to each file reference.**********

webtrees 1.4.0 (beta) has a completely revised code for media handling.

However, you may well find not everyone agrees with your interpretation of the GEDCOM spec.

As with another "bug" this really belongs on the forum as a "New Feature Request". A "bug" is something that is written to work, but currently broken. Neither the current (nor as far as I am aware the new) code is designed with this ability.
