The reverse is also true, but perhaps that needs to be a separate bug. Once an account is added to Online Accounts, those credentials should be used automatically by webapp-container so I don't need to log in again.

You are right. It is currently implemented on the phone, but is blocked on an implementation issue.

It is also frustrating to log into the web app with all my credentials (2F included) and then once the app is closed less than a minute after authenticating, if I reopen it right away I will have to go through all the steps to reauthenticate.

Hi Julien! What webapp are you using? I think we fixed the issue you are talking about in bug 1302780, at least for GMail.

Alberto, I've just reproduced this on r49 using the default Gmail webapp.

The reason for that behavior (need to re-authenticate) is due to the application being a Google App /For Business/.

If you use the Gmail webapp with a personal Gmail account, you should not have to reauthenticate every time you stop and re-open the app.

The reason is that Google uses different cookies depending on whether this is a "normal" account of a business one. For businesses, the behavior is to confirm the user identity every time the application is opened.

To clarify, the integration with webapp-container is work in progress and planned for RTM14.

However we won't initally support for automatically creating accounts from a browser context. This is a convenience feature, not a show stopper. Instead, we will ask that people provision their favorite online accounts manually, to then enjoy automatic login in webapps.

Webapps which can work with online accounts are now automatically proposing to create an account, or use one if available in the system. This applies to: facebook & twitter, with google apps coming just next.
