Bug Description
This is more of a usability request than a bug per se, but it drives me nuts, so I figured I'd report it.
Currently on my Ubuntu 12.10 system, when the Twitter WebApp is active, it causes the "New Message" indicator in the system tray to light up whenever a new tweet comes in. I would argue that this is incorrect behavior, since the vast majority of tweets in my stream aren't specifically addressed to me, and therefore aren't really "new messages" to me. It would be much better if the indicator only lit up when someone specifically directed a tweet at me, say by direct message or @-reply. (Retweets might also qualify.)
As it is now turning on the Twitter webapp means the New Message icon is going to be lit up just about 100% of the time, which makes it impossible to use to monitor the status of other communication channels like email, IM, etc.
