Bug Description

Clicking the "Manual" menu item does not bring up the manual for version 4 rc 1. Instead, the application goes back to the Main Menu screen. The doc/Manual directory exists and all the Manual php and html files appear to be there.

Hi,

The manual should appear in a new tab/window. What web browser are you using? It appears to work here. I have just uploaded an rc3 version, can you download that and check for me please?

thanks
Tim

This is crazy, Tim. I downloaded trunk from Launchpad. I set up a new
localhost domain and put the downloaded application there. I pointed my
browser to the new domain and the install screen came up as expected.
The first thing I noticed was that the companies directory wasn't
writable so I made it world writable (777) and refreshed the install
screen. Now it showed up as writeable. But at the bottom of the screen
were two messages:

FIX ERRORS FIRST

and

The installation cannot proceed until the above errors are resolved

I thought maybe the application or the browser had cached the problem
with the companies directory so I deleted the entire domain and closed
the browser. Then I recreated the domain and recopied the trunk files to
it. This time, I changed the owner and group for companies to the web
server's ID (www-data). I restarted the browser and the Install screen
appeared but the same error messages appeared at the bottom.

In other words, at the moment, I can't even install the trunk version of
web-erp so I can't test the Manual problem.

I'm using Ubuntu Linux 10.10. The browser is Firefox 3.6.13. I also
tried it with Chrome 8.0.552.237 and got the same problem. PHP version
is 5.3.3.1. Server is Apache 2.
