stuck on "refreshing, please wait" for 12 hours or more

I often go to weather.com but I shouldn't have to. I like indicator weather when it works, but it's often stuck telling me it's sunny in the middle of the night or that it's still 72 degrees when it's actually 104 degrees. When I click on it, in the drop-down menu it says "Refreshing, please wait". I've tried quitting and re-running, re-booting, switching from google to yahoo as the weather provider or vise versa, but nothing works until hours later it does work.

But today was the worst. It's been saying 76 degrees and sunny all day and now it's 2:00 am the next morning. Obviously, the sun is not out at 2 am, and besides, it's been cloudy all day and all night. It's 81 degrees and hasn't been in the 70's since early yesterday morning.
