reply buffer name flickering

When you reply to a non-ascii sender, VM has a very annoying habit of
flicking the compose buffer name back and forth between ... and ...<1>
(or whatever it is).
This is because of a couple of minor logic errors in the buffer
renaming code.

What do these mean?
I thought patches had already been applied, so why is it being put off
until some indefinite time in the future (as we haven't even got to
8.2.0 yet!)

This just means that the fix is currently committed to the trunk, which will
become part of the 8.2.89 milestone.

But the bug report is additionally targeted for the 8.2.0 release, and the
"release manager" will back port the fix to the 8.2.x branch before the
release.

This bureaucracy is needed because the trunk has moved on from the 8.2.x
branch and we will need to cherry pick the revisions for the 8.2.0 release.

Nothing for you to worry about at this stage.
