Bug Description

Variety 0.6.7
Linux Mint Cinnamon 18.1

Jpg files placed in ~/.config/variety/Fetched are ignored by Variety 0.6.7. The jpg files have read permissions for everyone.

I was trying to add some of my own images so taht they will display in Variety, but Variety never displays files saved to /.config/variety/Fetched.

Under Cinnamon, the Variety icon displayed in the Launcher does not function as stated in Variety's Preferences, Manual Downloading page....(i.e. "

In Variety Preferences, under General, the Fetched folder is enabled. Is there something else I need to do to make Variety read image files saved to /.config/variety/Fetched ?

Alternatively, is there an another method by which I can load my own images into Variety to be displayed on my desktop background ?

Many thanks,

Roy Gilby

You should be able to add any arbitrary folder to be displayed as wallpaper, but perhaps Fetched is special because it's an internal download directory (not entirely sure). You may have better luck storing your wallpapers in a separate folder and adding that to Variety. (In Preferences: General->Add...->Folders)

To access preferences you want to be looking at the tray / indicator icon (bottom right by default), and not any sort of pinned launcher.
