segmentation fault on Ubuntu 17.10

Bug Description

Sometimes i run variety in commandline, it will met a segmentation fault, while sometimes it won't.

Output:

Hello,

Please upload a stack trace of the crash somehow: run 'gdb python <path to the core dump>'

The core dump should either be in the directory you ran variety from or in /var/crash.

Er, after starting 'gdb python <path to the core dump>', type 'bt' to obtain a backtrace - you can then copy that here or attach it as a file.
