I added my Pictures folder for images. It regularly displays thumbnails of my photos as Wallpaper. Can I prevent this?

Bug Description

I have installed Variety and it works fine. I am running Ubuntu Mint Mate version 18.2. I added my Pictures folder for Variety to choose my pictures for wallpaper in addition to other sites that came stock in the program. Variety displays my pictures OK, however it also displays thumbnails of my pictures. Can I get the program to only display my pictures, no thumbnails? Thank you.

Some questions to help clarify the situation:

Are the options in Preferences -> Color and Size able to work around this?

Are the thumbnails still a problem if you put your wallpapers in a subfolder under Pictures?

Do you know what's generating the thumbnails in the first place? It could be a third party program doing this, since I don't believe Variety does so itself.

I think it was a third party app that was generating the thumbnails. I turned off thumbnail storage and still saw the thumbnails. Finally I set my file manager app to see hidden files. Then i could see and delete the thumbnails. No problems since. Thanks for the reply.
