Bug Description

500px has some of the most gorgeous photography on the internet. It would be awesome to have this supported.

This would require Variety to have an API key, or the user to enter an API key. There is a rate limit of 1,000,000 API requests per month per account, so maybe the latter.

I agree about the gorgeous photography part, but I am somewhat skeptical we can meet their terms of use in an application like Variety - https://github.com/500px/api-documentation/blob/master/basics/terms_of_use.md.

Maybe worth giving it a shot with an email describing our case. But I'll need first time to read the terms of use thoroughly and see what we might change in Variety to meet them and what is impossible to meet.

Changed in variety:
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
status: New → Triaged

Anyway, they have a rss, like this one: http://feed.500px.com/500px-editors
Why it doesn't work? Maybe if that work, it won't be a problem about keys, it is public.

Those RSS feeds are no good. RSS feeds contain links to pages, not links to images. MediaRSS are for serving images, they don't provide one. Besides, the embedded images in their RSS feed are way too small for wallpapers.
