Feature Request: Windows Compatibility

Hello,

I am a big fan of Variety, but I have to use windows 7 at work. I was wondering if making a windows version would be a doable task?

A partial windows version would be fine for my purposes: like a version that either runs on cygwin or runs from source, but uses windows utilities.

I would love to use Variety on all my machines, so if this is a doable task I would be eternally grateful.

Sorry, porting to Windows is not on the horizon for now - I don't have much time to work on Variety and also there is a large list of bigger priorities. I assume you know that there are some very decent Windows alternatives - e.g. John's background switcher?

Oh, I was not aware of that alternative. None of my searches revealed anything else that downloaded images from the internet, so it looks like that may do it. Thanks a bunch for the response!!
