Bug Description

I attach a patch which allows you to specify the cloud-init network-config. This is very useful where you want a more complex network setup than the dynamic option provided by uvt-kvm.

Would love to have some feedback on this...

Would be great to see this merged in. Passing in the network-config file is working for me with this patch.

Agree with @eheydrick, I actually don't understand why this has not been merged? Or maybe there is something I've missed in conjunction with cloud-init that I can't catch.

Hey @racb can you tell me the status of this? I was hoping it would be in Ubuntu 19.04, but it seems not to be :-(

@adamretter it's in Eoan (which will probably be 19.10).

For older releases, you can try ppa:uvtool-dev/master if that's any use? I believe that has this feature backported all the way back to 12.04.

FWIW, the backports may stop soon, since Python 3 support requires some things I think the older releases don't have, but this feature made it to the current backports which I don't expect to go away.

The daily build PPA has no kind of production level guarantee, but it has a good track record so far I think.
