Meego 1.1 misses HAL.

Looks like HAL is missing since 13.04
Install HAL:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mjblenner/ppa-hal

    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install hal

The usb-imagewriter should work now
