The website version of the cookbook at https://upstart.ubuntu.com/cookbook/ is no longer available.

Is this intentional?

I am also surprised that the cookbook was removed. Upstart is still in active use, most notably by Chrome OS. If it's no longer maintained, stating that in the manual would be friendlier than removing it.

It would be nice to hear an explanation from the maintainers, and, if they thought the removal was a mistake (which would be perfectly OK---I am used to other people making mistakes:), perhaps reinstating the site.

I found the below with a google search. It's not hard to find, but I thought I might as well copy-paste it here (since I found this bug first).

The Internet Archive's Wayback Machine has archived it: https://web.archive.org/web/20230322064449/http://upstart.ubuntu.com/cookbook/. The cookbook website was generated from code that's still hosted on Launchpad: https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~upstart-documenters/upstart-cookbook/trunk/files - so you can clone it using bazaar. The main content is a reStructuredText file, so it is fairly human-readable, but can be rendered into something presentable by a variety of methods, like Pandoc or docutils. The archived page says that the content is licensed under the CC BY-SA 3.0 unported license, so it should be OK to re-host it on Gitlab, GitHub or the like as long as you comply with that license.
