Bug Description

resolution ist bad on notebooks with sis67+.

Ubuntu 9.04 can get a better resolution with the package "xorg-driver-sis671_0.9_i386.deb"

on a live-cd not possible!

Thanks for your report and sorry for the long delay.

As I see, this is a patched, non-official driver - that's why we are very reluctant to include this in UPR. Please try if it works with the vesa driver - you can achieve this by pressing F4 at the boot menu and choosing "Safe graphics mode".

If it works, and since this is a not-so-widely used chip, I'd say we do not include the driver. If it doesn't, I may have to rethink this. Unfortunately, the drivers' website is down at the moment, so I cannot take a closer look at it.

SInce UPR 10.04 based on Ubuntu 10.04 has just been released, you might want to try if this version works for you.
