Bug Description

After upgrade from Kubuntu 9.10 to 10.04, following the reboot and login, there was no plasma-desktop, only a blank screen (the alt-f2 runner worked ok, as did any other app I ran - only the desktop itself was missing). This may have had to do with kdebase-workspace dependency problems, and/or related dev packages (the log said "/var/log/dist-upgrade/term.log:dpkg: kdebase-workspace-libs4+5: dependency problems, but removing anyway as you requested" - I'm not sure if this is indeed related or not). Manually running "apt-get install kdebase-workspace plasma-desktop" fixed the problem.

If it helps, I've heard of at least one other case in the support channel of the same symptom (black instead of desktop), and the same solution fixed the problem.
