Opacity doesn't work where composite is not enable

Bug Description
When running an applet under a non-composite environment, the opacity doesn't work. It's normal because the opacity depends on the composite but it should be nice to have the option "freeze" when there is no composite enable, instead of having an option that doesn't work.
