Shell flickers when flicking through carousels

Bug Description

When running unity8 on the desktop, flicking through the music/video carousels makes the shell flicker a lot - this is never visible on the device, so it might be xcb-specific, still we should investigate.

This might have to do with 5.2, I'm thinking the abundance of binding loops makes QML squirm...

I haven't seen this kid of flickering in a while any more. If someone sees this again, please reopen and let us know where it happens.
