Bug Description

If a user chooses to install an app but doesn't stay on the app preview while it downloads and installs (or the device sleeps in the meantime), when they see the list of apps, the app that is being downloaded is still shown as un-installed, with no distinction made.

This needs design input - some platforms show the app in the list of 'installed apps' (eg iOS home screen) but have a progress bar or some other badge to show that it's not ready to run yet.

This affects both unity8 and the scope because there will be additional state for the scope to send to the dash in the apps list results.

------ UX Comment ------

The desired solution (although temporary) will be creating a new category in the Apps scope to display all new/recently installed apps. They can live there until the user launch them for the first time (or move them to a user custom created section, once this functionality is implemented). After this (ie. a week), they will appear on the 'All' apps category displayed by alphabetical order.

The visual design I've seen for that was that the icon was supposed to be desaturated 100-$progress_percent from the top during installation. So if that stands, the app should move from Available to Installed straight away, but be desaturated initially and "fill" from the bottom up as installation progresses.

Following an email conversation between design and devs, we agreed that the app installation progress will be reflected in 3 places (the first of which is particularly pertinent to this bug):

1) APP ARTWORK (ie icon)
Artwork is filled with transparent overlay
Overlay gradually reduced creating a emptying effect where the app icon is gradually revealed
Effect pauses at 80% empty once downloading is completed. Remaining 20% takes place during installation

Please note that during downloading / installation the app icon appears in the launcher AND on the apps scope. The latest designs of the app scope only show installed apps not available apps so the problem in this bug is partly resolved by that.

2) CARD HEADER (eg in Store)
Attribute changes as installation progresses:
i) FREE/£0.99
ii) Downloading
iii) Installing
iv) Installed

Note - a purchased but not installed app is marked as Purchased

3) BUTTON (on preview)
Button label and background changes as installation progresses:
i) Label: Install | Background: Solid button colour
ii) Label: Downloading… | Background: Background acts as progress bar, filling up as downloading progresses
iii) Label: Installing | Background: Solid colour plus spinner to side of label
iv) Label: Open | Background: Solid colour.

In Utopic 161, anything which takes the user away from the app's install progress screen actually makes it look like the install was cancelled. And then some time later, the apps scope will jerk and force-redraw awkwardly with some visual errors, and then the new app will show up in the list of locally-installed options.

So... not ideal.

Just tested this and found that of the Fix Committed by Mike Nagle (mikenagle) on 2014-07-02, only item "3-BUTTON (on preview)" appears implemented.

In order to reflect app installation progress in the scope main view [item: APP ARTWORK (ie icon) & item 2: CARD HEADER (eg in Store)] cards will need to change layout once activated. This is part of a bigger redesign across scopes.
