Bug Description

Hi !

I'm trying to use unity 8 with my netbook (atom 270), but it is very slow, about 1 ips, where unity 7 + Compiz works very well !

Thanks for helping me solving this issue !

We're not supporting x86 use case yet, I'm afraid. But anyway that mostly shows that something is generally wrong in your setup, as it should work just fine.

By 14.04 we'll provide a preview Unity8 session, and by then we'll have looked at its performance.

Can you check again with the preview unity8 session - see http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2014/02/unity-8-desktop-preview-session-14-04 for some info.

IIRC atom 270 should ship with intel integrated graphics cards like 945 or 910 that do not support OpenGL 2.0 required by QtQuick 2 (Qt 5.0+) thus all Ubuntu SDK and unity8. If I am correct :)

OK, just don't forget to add a fallback session in next Ubuntu versions for old computers. Unity 7 works great in here
