colour picker in compiz for dash and launcher stopped working.

Bug Description
With the upgrade to unity 5.10 the colour picker for the dash and launcher stopped working.
I can pick a colour, but after opening the dash, the setting is overriden, and the dash returns to it's default transparent state.
I'd really prefer to be able to pick black as the dash colour, as it's much easier to read than having a transparent dash.
