Unity 3d completely broken since latest update, no desktop at all after login

Bug Description

I am not sure if this has already been logged. Cannot find any bugs which are related.

Since updating today I have lost all access to Unity 3d. After logging in there is only my wallpaper, no desktop icons, no panel, no launcher. Unity seems to be working ok but unity 3d is dead.

The first time I logged in there was an apport error but it would not let me even show the information for the crash, let alone log a bug with that info. All I could do is log this bug from unity 2d. Please let me know if there is anything else I can provide.

I have gotten unity to work again after removing the video lens PPA I had installed while trying to fix another bug.

Changed in unity:
status:	New → Invalid
