Repeated Clicking on any lens icon causes screen issues with the dash

Whenever I open the dash and click on a lens, it opens it up. Good, just as it is supposed to be. But if one were to click on a lens repeatedly, like a double click or just mashing the mouse button, the dash will darken and flicker. It looks especially bad when the dash is launched over an application. This is all happening on a 32 bit installation of ubuntu 11.10
