Bug Description
If Thunderbird is open, but MINIMIZED, it becomes impossible to click on the restored windows on the desktop and activate focus on them. The only alternative to focus a window is to click unity launcher over the app you want to focus. Quitting Thunderbird makes the system normal again (ie. you can normally click on the maximized windows and focus will follow).
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
- Open Firefox
- Open a Terminal window.
- Put them side by side on the desktop. You can normally switch between them, clicking anywhere in their area.
- Open Thunderbird. Minimize Thunderbird.
- No matter where you click on the Console and Firefox windows, focus won't follow.
- Click Unity launcher over Terminal: Terminal gains focus.
- Click Unity launcher over Firefox: Firefox gains focus.
- Quit Thunderbird
- You can now switch between Console and Firefox simply by clicking anywhere over them on the Desktop, not needing to use the launcher, as expected.
WORKAROUND
- You can have Thunderbird open, as long as it is at another Desktop.
- Open Thunderbird.
- Use "Ctrl+Shift+
- Use "Ctrl+Shift+Left Arrow" to get back to desktop at the left.
- Switch between console and Firefox windows by clicking anywhere in their areas. It works normally as expected.
TWEAK
- Using Compiz Settings, you can create a regexp rule to always have Thunderbird at an specific desktop. Not ideal, but functional for the time being.
