Bug Description

Reproducable.
Call gnome-control-center via alt+f2, it's displayed as audio icon on dash.

1. Press ALT-F2 to open "Run a command"
2. If gnome-control-center is not displayed on the list enter "gnome-control-center" in the search field and compare the icon with what it should be.

Thanks for your report.

I can confirm this but on 2 of my test system it displays the 'Display' icon instead of the g-c-c icon and not the sound icon. Setting to triaged/low because it doesn't affect functionality (the name of the app is displayed below the icon which avoids any confusion)

Thanks for triage Jean-Baptiste and yes Sebastien also views the 'display' icon.

Maybe it depends if a test system was an upgrade from Natty or fresh installation.

It's an unity issue, it's likely that it matches on commands and the capplets now are called "gnome-control-center <panel>" so several .desktops match "gnome-control-center", unity should favorite exact matching there

no, it's not weird, it just display the icon of the first desktop entry matching it hits, you just get lucky and currently that's being the right one for you

Yep, you're right. Alt+F2 still displays the audio icon. Couldn't find a file where it assigns it to audio icon; probably wrong path due to less knowledge.

Sorry folks, but, as part of the bug clean up ahead of 16.04 LTS, I'm marking this as invalid because it affects an Ubuntu release which is now unsupported. If you can still recreate this bug in a supported release, please do open a new bug and we can triage it for consideration in the 16.04 LTS development cycle.
