Bug Description
This is a feature request
Example: The default install of Ubuntu 11.04 has the LibreOffice launchers all stacked together, taking up all the space of the Launcher in a small screen. Instead, there should have been a LibreOffice 'group' launcher item that houses the individual launchers. To access the members of the group I have the following suggestions (i.e. how to enter a group):
1. Pressing the group icon reveals a side panel with the individual launchers inside
2. Pressing the group icon the Launcher 'enters'/slides into the group's view (now the Launcher is populated only by the group members for instance)
3. Hover over the group icon (delay triggered action) unfolds it in-place
we remain in a group until a member is selected or we loose focus or click/tap somewhere else etc.
Such groupings are now done with Lenses, but I think there is room for some faster, smaller, more direct access UI elements for groups of launchers. I do realise that such an idea can lead to multiple levels of hierarchy and the resulting havoc, but if done and used sensibly it need not to be.
NOTE: There is a similar report in https:/
