Bug Description
Binary package hint: nautilus
Under Unity if you press the alt key the global menu becomes focused and you can select menu items via alt+f (File), alt+e (Edit) and so on. This works with all applications, except when the desktop is focused. For consistency reasons and keyboard navigation nautilus desktop too needs an alt-key navigateable menu.

Is this not a duplicate?

I think this is related to ted's patch (maybe initial menu doesn't have accelerator?). I'm assigning it to it and as people seem puzzled about it on the tests, I raise the priority to medium + unity distro priority
