Bug Description

This is one of the bugs I reported here (https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/784447), for which I was told to file individual reports for each bug.

When two monitors are arranged vertically in Unity (with the lower monitor being the main one) then dragging of windows between monitors is broken:

I can drag a window from the bottom monitor to the top one, but I *cannot* drag it from the top to the bottom. It always gets stuck when the title bar of the window should go below the Ubuntu menu bar on the bottom screen. The title bar of the window always stays on the top monitor. The only way to get a window from the top monitor to the bottom one is to drag it as far down as possible and then to right-click on the title bar choosing "move" and then moving it the remaining distance to the bottom monitor.

The same on my configuration.
I disabled the plugin, which maximize the window when you move them to the edge of the screen, but no diffrenece.
The only way, I can move windows to bottom screen is to grab them with "alt" key.

I thing vertical monitors are rarely used, so there is no hope to improve this ?

Does alt+<drag window with mouse> help in such a case?

Yes, with the Alt key pressed, dragging of windows between monitors works in both directions.
