Bug Description

When a computer running Unity is used as a keyboard and mouse host for synergy, Unity catches 'super' keypresses meant for other computers.

Tested with one synergy client, to the left or right of the host.

- Put mouse focus on client
- Press `super`
       * no visible effect on host
- Return mouse to host
       * as mouse enters host screen, unity dash appears
       * mouse cannot exit host screen until the dash is dismissed -- this does not depend on client screen position

I find that "prevent" is not a correct description of what is happening. The keypress appears to still be sent to the client, however the behaviour as reported by Chris also occurs.

In my setup, the client is running Mac OS X, and super is therefore mapped as the command key on the mac.

Testing with a similar process as Chris:

- Move mouse to Client
- Press super+tab
      * Works as expected on the client side
      * If super is held, the unity dash will display on the host.
- Move mouse to host
      * The unity dash appears, with the search window in focus.
      * The mouse cannot exit the host screen until the dash is dismissed.

Same here. I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 box as the Synergy client, and Kubuntu 11.04 machine as the Synergy client. I mapped super key + some keys to shortcuts. Whenever I use those shortcuts, the unity dash bar appears when I come back to host. Exactly same as above.

Is this issue possibly related to bug #704231 ?
Do you have the same issue in Unity 2D?

I know this bug is older, but the root cause of the problem is detailed in bug 806255. So I'll mark this as a duplicate of that...
