Bug Description

It's not possible to launch applications via keyboard in dash which aren't the first result in the list.

E.g. type "term" and the list will contains "terminal" and "terminal server client". Hitting enter now will start "terminal", however there's no way with keyboard to start "terminal server client" this way (except writing it out). The only way to launch it is the mouse.

Thank you for your bug report. Are you using unity or unity-2d?
Does using the cursor keys not work? E.g. type "term", go down to select "terminal", go right to select "terminal server client", press return.

I am using unity-2d.

Using the cursor keys I can only navigate *within* the text input area where I entered "term", cursor down/up does not leave it and does actually nothing. Cursor left/right navigates only within the text input left and right.

Pressing enter always will start the first listed application.

Thanks, the issue is unity-2d specific (i.e. it works as expected in "3d" unity), I'm marking this as a duplicate of bug #608132 (which is fixed for unity but still open for unity-2d).
Please look at the other bug report to see if there is any missing information that you can provide, or to see if there is a workaround for the bug. Additionally, any further discussion regarding the bug should occur in the other report. Please continue to report any other bugs you may find.
