opengl app lags using unity ubuntu 11.04

Bug Description

My homebrew OpenGL engine is lagging using Unity. This happens when I'm using face culling with front face set to ccw. The application starts to lag when I look at the other side of the ground which is culled (is not displayed). I have the stock nvidia driver 270.41 (?) installed, and when I turn off culling or use the classic desktop environment the problem disappears. When lag happens I think the vga is overhauled not the cpu, because the cpu is at a usual usage.

Are you running your engine full screen? Also, does glxgears run slower on unity than on the classic desktop? That might explain the graphics slowdown. Could you post info of glxgears output?

as I remembet on fullscreen and windoe it lagged too, however the peoblem has been solved (I think) in one of the updates not sure which though. I think the problem can still be reproduced using a non-updated version of ubuntu, however noe he problem has just disappeared and i'm not sure if it's worth dealing eith it now. but if it is then i may send you thr source vode of the engine and i think the problem can still be reproduced with a fresh, unupdated ubuntu. i do not want to reinstall mine so it's up to you
