Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

What was expected:
Plug in an external disk (USB hard drive or SD card) and let Ubuntu automatically mount it. Click on the Unity launcher icon for the volume. Nautilus windows open, allowing user to browse the volume.

What actually happens:
Clicking on the Unity icon launches two Nautilus windows instead of one. Both point to the correct volume.

To reproduce:
Plug in an external drive, wait for it to automatically mount, then click the icon in the Unity launcher.

This is my first time reporting a bug, so please let me know if I'm leaving out some important information.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

This is not a nautilus bug, but a Unity Launcher bug.

The launcher shows mounted drives, but clicking on them opens a *new* nautilus windows every time instead of switching to the current open window.

Very inconsistent and confusing behavior, specially for average users.

since this is not a nautilus bug is not dependent on upstream to fix it, but on unity developers, so the importance/commitment should be re-evaluated.

Is this bug reproducible in oneiric? I can't reproduce this problem here. Isn't this bug a duplicate of bug #748299?
