Binary package hint: unity
Attempting to add a custom launcher in the for of "application /path/to/file" to the unity side bar.
Currently there is a way to add applications (open application, rightclick item in side bar, keep in launcher). Upgrading to Natty also converts gnome-panel custom launchers (including custom icon) into unity side bar items. Unity needs a simple way to add custom launchers to the side bar. There is currently a workaround [1][2] which is not very user friendly.

----------------------------------
Desired resolution:
- The correct method to add custom items to the Launcher is to use the following application https://launchpad.net/unity-launcher-editor
- See http://laudecioliveira.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Screenshot-1.png and http://laudecioliveira.org/blog/?p=303 |
