Bug Description
Binary package hint: unity
The logic that decides whether to ellipsize an application name or not doesn't seem to be optimal.
As you can tell by the attached screenshot, in the 'Internet Applications' lens, the names of the applications Empathy, Pidgin and LottaNZB are ellipsized even though this is clearly not necessary. On the other hand, the label "Chromium Web Browser" uses all of the available space.

This bug seems to be related to bug #750350. My opinion however is that rather than changing the position of the "..." in the application name, ellipsizing is often not even necessary, just like in the Shotwell example provided in the other bug report.
