Inconsistent "hide" behavior of the launch bar in Unity

Sometimes when I drag a window to the left side of the desktop the launch bar hides, and sometimes the window slides underneath (and is obscured by) the launch bar. It doesn't seem to do this with any kind of consistency, so I can't tell you how to reproduce the problem, just that it happens occasionally when I'm moving window saround. To avoid the problem I've pretty much just stopped putting windows near the bar, which is obviously not a long-term fix.

I can't reproduce this. Which version of Unity are you running?

Hi, I have the same problem on 2 machines both natty amd64 with open-source radeon driver (hd3200 and hd3300).

Sometimes the panel works as expected and sometimes suddenly it stays on top an never hides anymore until I restart gdm. See screenshot. I don't know when and why this happens. This is alongside with other bugs I have with unity very annoying.

i can confirm this bug.
this bug is present in both 11.04 beta and 11.04. As indicated in the original description, this behavior is pretty inconsistent and its not not possible to give reproduction steps. Playing around with few windows will surely will trigger it.

try unity 3.8.12 by updating your system through update manager. This version fixes on case where launcher won't hide.

The Unity bar sometimes sticks when I select multiple cells in LibreOffice Calc and then drag them to another area of the spreadsheet with the mouse.
