Bug Description

Hi. I've got Ubuntu 10.10 with the following kernel: 2.6.35-28-generic . Unity doesn't work for me! I've downloaded it and all required packages, but when I start a session with "Ubuntu netbook edition", I only get an empty desktop! No left panel, no upper panel, no icons... nothing at all! I've attached a gedit text file with the output of the command 'unity' in a terminal. Thank you!

Thanks for the bug report. The version of unity that you are using is not supported anymore as the development on it was stopped due to a different direction taken for Natty Narwal. You are welcome to try the beta of Ubuntu Natty and see if unity works for you there. Please report a new bug if it does not work for you in Natty in the mean while I am closing this bug as invalid.

Changed in unity:
status: New → Invalid

Hi Omer. Thank you for your answer. I wanted to ask you another thing, I hope you can answer. On ubuntu forum, somebody told me that ATI Technologies Inc RS690 [Radeon X1200 Series] chip, that is my video card, is not supported by unity and this is the reason why it doesn't work. Anyway, I'll try as you said by installing Ubuntu Natty beta, but please answer me about the video card if you can. Thank you!
