FWIW: I've been looking into this for a few days, and it appears that it may be better to fix this in Nux than in Unity. The nux::TextEntry object that Unity uses doesn't have any public methods for controlling the blinking cursor. However, in the TextEntry.h, there are some commented methods that appear to be just for this blinking cursor.
