Bug Description

Binary package hint: indicator-appmenu

i have noticed that when you open openoffice spreadsheet app the appmenu but the title at the top with the menu items below like it does with firefox at the moment.

however if you open a spreadsheet file it doesn't display the title bar for example it is missing the close, maximise and minimise buttons and when however over shows the menu options for nautilus.

if you change to another window and then back to the spreadsheet all is well again.

i raised this bug before ubuntu changed to libreoffice which doesn't have this bug.

to reproduce the bug it was as simple as open documents folder and then double spreadsheet file.

since i am now using libreoffice and not openoffice i am unable to test openoffice or reproduce.

since this bug is not in libreoffice you can close it.

after the last lot of updates to unity and compiz this fault is now affecting libreoffice.

exactly the same problem and steps to reproduce it.

i think it might be the patch to fix invisible windows and dead zones.

since this patch was reintroduced i haven't had the invisible windows or dead zones but i do now get this bug.

just seems strange that when the patch wasn't in place it worked and now that it is back it doesn't.

So this is some kind of focus issue where compiz/unity gets confused about whether the desktop or oo.o are the focused application.

i am only testing it on libreoffice because it is default office suite and don't have open office installed.

when you open a libreoffice files, writer or spreadsheet etc it doesn't shows the minimise and maximise and close buttons along with the title of the file you have open.

as a workaround if you open another window and then go back to the libreoffice app it correct itself.

OK, same issue.
unity 3.8.10
Compiz 0.9.4.0

Easily reproduceable by opening a document folder and double-clicking a documet.
Won't attach a screenshot as those above (example - post #3) are quite informative.
