Adding application to launcher from Apps Place is not intuitive

Bug Description

Apps listed in the Dash (Applications Place, or elsewhere) should be draggable straight to the Launcher. In addition, a context menu on such an app icon should have a "Show in Launcher" option which installs it in the Launcher.

Michael, can you clarify what you mean here by menu, application menu,
global menu?

Mark, Apologies - I think I am getting the terminologies wrong.

I have attached two screenshots to clarify.

I feel this is a usability bug. I have joined Ayatana, so let me know if you feel this is a better place to bring up these kind of issues.

This really should not be a "wishlist" item. This should be a must have before we put Unity on hopefully the vast majority of existing Ubuntu desktops and hopefully a vast majority of FIRST TIME Ubuntu desktops as well as netbooks and laptops where it's existed for a little while now.

An intuitive means for adding app launchers is something that is kind of a "must have" for a UI shift of this magnitude. Can we please bump this up from Wishlist to something with a little higher priority?

By the way, I know Didier reported this upstream, is there a link to the upstream report we can put in this one so others will be able to find it?

Yes, dragging from the Apps Place to the Launcher is critical for Natty.
