This doesn't seem a bug in unity, but rather configuration issues you have (as missing dbus session running)

Hi Marco!

You must be true, but I couldn't find any resource on the internet after a really exhaustive research in the topic that could help me fix this "configuration issue". Can you please tell some directions on how to fix it? I don't really know how DBus works :(

The problem for me was introduced when I accidentally removed compiz when tried to revert an install that triggered an update on compiz (I noted the package names, and unfortunately compiz was amongst them), and before restarting unity, I installed it again hoping that nothing will happen. Since then, I cannot log in, I only get the wallpaper and the mouse, and if I run "DISPLAY=:0.0 unity --replace" in tty1, then I get the same output as written above.

Of course I've done something I shouldn't have, but only uninstalling, and installing the unity, compiz packages caused my configurations to brake. Isn't it a bug? How should I proceed?
