Bug Description

There must be a way to have the instant "Bring-to-Front" feature under Ubuntu while "Alt+Tab" are being hold. :) Just as it is under you know which OS. :) As it is under Windows 7: when "alt+tab" are hit, almost immediately the next app window is brought to the front (above all other open windows) without letting the "alt+tab" keys. I mean without needing the keys to be let.

This behaviour is typical even for KDE. And it's configurable under GNOME 3.

Note from design:

+1 on experimenting with this idea, but we will need to review a PPA of this change before it lands in Ubuntu

Superb! I'm glad that my idea is accepted because this feature is VERY important according to me. It speeds up by a GREAT margin my work under Windows 7.
However, I have a question... why is the bug report marked as "fix committed"? :)

@Miroslav: the "Ayatana Design" task of the bug is marked as "Fix Committed." Many bugs required tasks to be completed by several different people or groups before it's finally resolved. In this case, the bug is still open upstream in Unity and a task also still open to track its release into the Ubuntu distribution.

Changed in unity (Ubuntu):
status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → Low

Now I understand, thank you.
And I hope the idea is not hard to be implemented.
