Bug Description

Hi,

I'm seeing this warning in ~/.cache/upstart/unity-panel-service.log every now and again:

(unity-panel-service:1654): IDO-WARNING **: Can't load user avatar icon: Error opening file: No such file or directory
(unity-panel-service:1654): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: g_object_weak_unref: couldn't find weak ref 0x7f5f5cd040b0(0x114d070)

(unity-panel-service:1654): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: g_object_weak_unref: couldn't find weak ref 0x7f5f5cd040b0(0x114d070)

Any chance someone could take a look into this?

Thanks,

Haw

Some indicator somewhere is doing something not quite right. It's not possible to tell which indicator, and since the warning occurs when trying to unref something that no longer exists, it's likely fairly harmless. Nevertheless, we'll keep an eye on this.

That warning always seems to happen when closing windows - be it terminal (Konsole), Chrome, gnome-calculator, etc. so maybe it's indicator-application-service?

I get this from some applications in Debian and gnome-shell. I assumed it was an upstream GTK3 bug, but comment #4 says Chrome does it too, so perhaps it's glib.

In any case I don't think the fault is with unity-panel-service or even specific to Ubuntu.
