Bug Description

$ gsettings list-keys com.canonical.Unity.Panel
No such schema 'com.canonical.Unity.Panel'

What happened with the systray-whitelist? Is its absence in 13.04 the reason why the icon of my pet app Mail Notification (https://launchpad.net/mail-notification) no longer shows up?

Please give us back a possibility to decide which icons to display in the systray.

same with me. installed updates of ubuntu 13.04 today and the systray icons of claws-mail and libreoffice disappeared. dconf-editor com.canonical.Unity.Panel shows systray-whitelist as 'all' but at least the icons of these two applications do not show. any workaround to use a different mail notification then claws-mail's?

Same in Ubuntu 14.04. It is quite problematic since some applications can't be used anymore. For example DavMail. Is there any plan from the Unity team to bring back the whitelist feature?

As part of the big bug review for 16.04 LTS I have tested this on 15.10 and the bug is still there.
