Bug Description

I will attach a video that shows the issue.
The app switcher (ALT+Tab / ALT+^) flashes while I don't switch between windows (it seems to be a dark shadow that is getting darker, goes away and reappears right away).
I found out that this only happens when I have Chromium OR Spotify open (and not minimized, they don't need to be in front however). There might be other apps which are causing the same issue.

I see that flickering, of the border of the alt-tab switcher, too. I can't reproduce it on demand. I don't use either of the particular apps you mention. I'll try to keep an eye out for what apps might be open, when it happens to me next.

Is this fixed for you in Raring?

For me it does not even happen in a clean installation of 12.10 (not after an update), I did a lot of testing with my display drivers, which might have lead to this issue. It has been a bad setup thought.
Maybe Edward can still reproduce it? Else it should be marked as invalid.

I still see it on my up-to-date Raring box. Not all the time, so I still can't reproduce it at will. Have certainly seen in the last few days since you asked. :)

This box has Intel graphics, Ivy Bridge HD. (Currently using SNA. I've seen this under both UXA and SNA.)

I guess I should re-open the bug. Thanks.

Another data point, this happens to me in a clean install of Quantal.

Hi all, sorry it took me a long time to respond. This is still occurring, on and off, in my Raring install (which is an upgrade not a fresh installation). Just as in the video attached above. Same machine with Intel graphics.

On a Raring machine with a Radeon card, I've never seen it. I have a lot less time to test that one, so, small sample size.

I'll be happy to report more if I can.

Thanks.

You are right I didn't see it in the last few releases. So I presume it has been fixed somehow. I guess we can mark this as being fixed.
