Bug Description

Hypotetical case:
I'm looking for a music album that has the same name of a music track.
I start typing the name on the "home" lens, but I realize it not discriminates albums from tracks.
I switch to the music lens.
My search criteria is lost, and I must retype the search.

Now, I can see that every lens retains the last search string (or the lack of it). I'm not completely sure that this is useful, and interferes in cases as the above. I feel there is room for a minor improvement there.
Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Thank you for submitting this bug report. However, this involves a change in the behavior of the lenses which requires approval from the design team. Hence before starting to work on this request, we need the confirmation. Hence marking incomplete until we get that approval.

Hi Nekhelesh. Agree, is not technically a bug, and even, the design team could have valid points for the actual behaviour.
Lets see :)

In a hypothetical world where design approval was given for this, could someone please tell me how difficult this would be to implement?

This is the same as existing bug 935750, isn't it? That one's in the same state, submitted to design. Thanks.

Chris, it probably would be simple to implement if you want to play. but this feature have already been denied by design team in the past.

@Edward is not exactly the same, but Kirill Kabardin (kkabardin) is commenting about a bug that seems to be exactly what I'm talking about: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/935750/comments/5
BTW, if anyone can find the response of the design team to the original request, I'll love to read it.
